I got a puppy!

Hello!

I hope you are all ok - I am suuuper excited! Today I got a puppy!!!!!!!!!!! She is so gorgeous and ridiculously cute and I wanted to write this little post to show her to you because I'm basically like one of those really proud, but annoying mums who just won't shut up about their new baby(apologies to any mums out there!)

I didn't even know I was getting a dog until tuesday! Basically, my mum has always said stuff about getting another dog(we had one when I was a baby), we've come agonisingly close before but never actually bit the bullet and done it! So when I was called into the living room with my 2 sisters on tuesday night, a few minutes after my mum had come back from looking at 'a shed' I don't know how I knew what she was about to say but I did!

She described the shed as black...with white underneath..and it has 4 legs..which at this point we all shouted WE'RE GETTING A DOG! So cute how she told us! We then spent the next 4 days arguing about names, I loved the name Beau(pronounced Bo) however in the end, we all decided on Jess!
We picked her up from the farm this morning and since then, she has been bouncing round, like a big bundle of cuteness! Actually love her and I've just realised I'm a crazy dog lady..WOW.

After such a long day playing, she fell asleep on my lap <3
Hope you enjoyed the cuteness of these pictures!

Review - Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation

Hello!

I am vowing for this to be the start of me getting a grip, and being able to manage my time well between A Levels, work and my blog! I've been neglecting it lately and I've really missed blogging, however I haven't missed shopping, I've been doing rather a lot of that, so today I'm going to share with you my most extravagant purchase..

I've always been someone who thought that high end foundations were a waste of money, what was the point when there were perfectly nice ones in drugstores? So really, I'm unsure of what actually changed my mind! I was in Meadowhall a few weeks ago, and suddenly just had the urge to buy one, so I popped into House of Fraser, bit the bullet and went over to the Laura Mercier stand.

I wanted a foundation that gave me medium coverage, something that covered any redness/imperfections and balanced out my skin without it looking to cakey and full on, so the very nice man on the counter, tested the 'oil free supreme' foundation on me, and needless to say..it was purchased!!

A little warning, as I made this mistake the first time I wore it, is that do not apply this foundation without shaking the bottle beforehand, it looks a thick mess. However, if you apply this like a normal human being(!), I do it with a Real Techniques stippling brush, it gives a gorgeous flawless finish, but looks natural, is oil free, without clutching to dry patches and is easily blended.

Being Laura Mercier, it actually has 12 different shades to choose from, so it can basically match anyone, I am in the shade 'sunny beige' and it's perrrrrrrfect! This foundation is slightly steeply priced at £33, although I got mine for £29.70 with a cheeky 10% discount sale they were having without me even realising, so I am expecting sleek but subtle packaging, which is definitely is; and also..it has a pump! I've read so many reviews of high end foundations that don't have a pump, which I think is absurd for the price you are paying to be honest.

I have used it over the Clarins Beauty Balm, review here and I got a sample of the Laura Mercier primer and it looks lovely over both, with the Clarins balm just giving that slightly dewier finish, which is perfect with this foundation as due to it being oil free, your face isn't going to end up an oily mess! The primer does a great job, I personally don't have a huge problem with foundation wearing off throughout the day however I could definitely tell a difference, and it also makes the foundation glide on beautifully too.

Do I recommend it? Yes! I think it's a great winter foundation, without looking too full on for daytime, however it's a no go area for people with really dry skin!

I want to try more high end products now, I've caught the bug! What does everyone recommend?
